Aviosys 9100a

The Aviosys 9100a is a four-port, Ethernet based video surveillance solution. The product has an enthusiastic user base, with an active Yahoogroup community. As a development test vehicle, Yoics produced a custom “Yoics enabled” version of 9100a firmware. Unlike the standard 9100a firmware, the Yoics version supports round-robin mode, Firefox and Safari browsers and even features an iPhone ready interface.

NOTE: The Yoics 9100a firmware was developed as a test vehicle and although regularly updated is neither an official Yoics nor Aviosys product.
Overview

The Yoics 9100a Firmware includes a few nice enhancements over the standard 9100a firmware. Simply clicking on either the camera image or the icons above, will bring up single camera view. While in four camera view, all four images are regularly updated in true-round robin mode. Clicking on “legacy interface” will bring up the AVIOSYS interface.
iPhone view

With version 2.46 and above, the Yoics firmware also includes autodetection for iPhone browsers & delivers a specific iPhone interface.
Hi,
I heard about this software on the yahoo users group and downloaded it. I had one version, which opened, but wouldn’t work, then registered, down loaded it again, hit the ‘repair’ button, and it won’t install now.
From what I read, it’s supposed to work with Aviosys 9100aplus? Can you help.
I’ve got windows Vista on a PC
Thanks
Yes it works with the Aviosys 9100a video server.
Where did you get the firmware? Which version? What is the status?
You should either post to the support forums

or send email to support

Please include what version of 9100a server you have, what version of firmware you tried to load,
what is your yoicsid, what did you name your 9100a, what version of vista you have, and any
other info you may have about your situation.
hi
I could not find any instructions on how to replace the factory firmware with the yoics firmware
can you please point to some resource. It would be great if there is a sticky thread on the forum
which describes the process setup by step

Good idea, made one sticky for you

Hi all,
I’m new to the 9100A, and found it via googling; it looks ideal for one of my projects.
After reading at the top of this page about the 9100A being no longer in production, I emailed the manufacturer in Taiwan direct – they said that the 9100A is _still in production_. I was wondering how to reconcile these two contradictory statements – does anyone have any more information?
With Aviosys I have no clue as they don’t know what is going on in their own company.
I would say that it stays in production because it sells, even though they would like to kill it.
Hello,
With firmware 2.47 of Yoics, if the password is activated, the camera does not work. normal ?

Will your firmware work on the current model?

What about the BNC Version?

Would like to get it working with http://www.securityspy.com
As long as it’s the 9100 yes, including the BNC version. Any of the mjpeg servers/cameras based on the winbond chipset will work.
Hi,
I’d like to buy this video server.
But in fact i’d like to buy some wireless cam infra red with a “large view” like a fish eye.
In fact : i’d like to same as the screeshot example but don’t find it yet, please could somebody can tell me which reference are the cameras used here on the screenshot ?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my poor english , hope somebody will understand me correclty.
Regards
Manu
The cameras in the screenshot use 3.6mm and 2.8mm lenses – which provide the ‘wide angle’ you are looking for. Just get a camera with those specifications & you should be all set.
I’m about to receive the 9100a from amazon, I don’t use a iPhone so not certain if yoics is for me yet. But I’m hoping that Yoics will stream out to MMS:// as well. If it does than I’m all set for my planned security setup.
Hello!
I updated my 9100A with your firmware – unfortunatly I got an error at 95%…
Although the 9100A is still working, I could not take advance of the new possibilities.
So I tried to update the firmware, but I cannot access the “System” page of the Web-surface of the 9100A.
Is there another possibility to re-update the firmware?
Thanks in advance

I also have a 9100(A) V2.36 server, and I have it working, but some people cannot access the video. They see the screen briefly than it says navigation has been cancelled and an ActiveX error shows (could not run).
Can anyone confirm this problem with Vista, and I also am interested in the new firmware described here. Is there any chance it will blow up on me.
As to how to upgrade the firmware. In ipEdit, select System and at the bottom of the page is an option for firmware update.
